BP-99 and BP-130 are battery holders that take 6 × AA batteries.
The original Icom suffix "A" denotes "Anthracite" (coal or black) coloured, otherwise exactly the same as the normal grey packs.
The original Icom BP-131, 132 & 174 versions have a built in microphone for "Whisper Mode".
A word of caution about the Li-ion type: This should never be recharged with the standard Ni-Cd/Ni-MH charger as severe damage, fire or explosion can result. A proper Li-ion charger is available.
